The Gordimer Family Year of a Hundred Disney Treats

As many of you know, we are going to Disney World this year the week after Thanksgiving. I will be turning 40 this year(ugh!), Jessica will be 4 this year, TJ will be turning 1 and we are celebrating by going to Disney. We already have many people who want to go.

Well to celebrate our celebration, we are going to steal a little idea from Disney. They are having what they call the Year of a Million Dreams where they are giving away things ranging from special mouse ears to a trip around the world to visit all the Disney Parks. Well I can't afford anything quite that elaborate but to keep the excitement going all year and to enjoy the planning and anticipation of going, we will be giving a hundred Disney treats to Jess, TJ and maybe some other people (but probably mostly Jess). Jess has already received tickets to Disney on Ice but other things might include stickers, clothing, toys, etc. I'll periodically blog about some of the things that have been given out.

If anyone has any ideas on cheap Disney treats, remember a hundred treats is a lot, please let me know. I already have many ideas, but I always love to hear what other people have to say. We hope to see some of you at Disney.

Weight Watchers Diet

For those not aware, Sue and I have been doing Weight Watchers for 3 weeks now. Sue says it's not a diet but a way of life. She's right - but to me - I'm still dieting. Anyway, it's going very well. I have lost 10 pounds and Sue has lost 6 pounds. We did Weight Watchers back in 2002 before we moved to San Diego and I lost 31 pounds in about 6 months. I really need to lose the weight - I know it's not healthy to be this heavy. My goal is to get under 200 pounds. I'm at 216 right now so I'm almost half way there. Unfortunately, the beginning is always easy. I haven't exercised yet so that is the next step. Wish us luck!

Bad Sports Jerseys

I know there are a lot of people out there who have bought team sports jerseys only to see that player traded the next season, month and even the next week. It's even happened to me - thank you Deion Sanders of the Washington Redskins. Well now there is a blog dedicated to random pictures of these out of date jerseys. Check it out and hopefully you too can have a chuckle.

Super Bowl XLII

I don't want to watch the game. I've disliked the Giants since I was a kid and I really don't like Eli Manning or his dad. The Patriots have won enough and Bellichek and Brady are just too arrogant.

Is it possible for both teams to lose? Is it possible that I can really not watch the Super Bowl. It is an American institution but I can see all the commercials on the internet so I may just skip it this year. There are worse things that can happen than me not watching the Super Bowl.

Who Should You Vote For?

Not sure who to vote for? Well take this Select A Candidate Quiz and see which candidate is most aligned with your views and opinions. And please come back and leave me a comment on who was your top choice. I haven't made up my mind on who to vote for yet but I found it interesting to see that Hillary was my top choice.

Packers-Seahawks Playoff Game

I love to watch football games that are played in the snow. Especially when you are watching from the comfort of your home on your big screen HDTV. The game wasn't that close in the 2nd half but it's still fun to watch. Brett Favre was having a great time. He was having so much fun he even had time to throw a snowball during the game. Favre is fun to watch and it's nice to see someone enjoying playing a game. I hope he sticks around for another year.

Time Bankrupt

Someone at work used the phrase "Time Bankrupt". I've heard the phrase before but never thought much of it. When it was said this time I thought to myself, that is exactly how I feel. I never have enough time to do anything. I don't have enough time at work, I don't have enough time at home, I don't have enough time to sleep - it's never ending. I spend 2 hours or so a day in the car, that certainly doesn't help. I have too much time there. I don't get home until 6pm or so and only have a couple of hours to spend with Jess. I feel I sometimes have even less time with Sue because one of us is playing with Jess the other will be doing something with the baby. It's madness! We need more hours in the day.

New Year's Resolutions

My New Year's Resolutions include losing weight and blogging more often. And having more patience with my kids. And other things I won't say here. I'd love to hear from my many readers, haha, what their New Year's Resolutions are. And have you broken them yet?
