Mets Spring Training Injuries

What is going on in spring training? It seems like every other Met is getting injured. Carlos Delgado went back to New York for an MRI that showed a hip impingement - what is that? Ryan Church and Marlon Anderson collided yesterday sending both to the hospital. Today, Ruben Gotay hurt his ankle and this does not even take into account that Carlos Beltran, Damion Easley, Endy Chavez, Jose Valentin and others have yet to play in a spring training game due to nagging injuries of one type or another. I hope they are getting the injuries out of the way now so we don't have to worry about this during the regular season and the playoffs.

Dude... this is, in fact, freaking me out a little bit. We have an old team and injuries hindered us last year. I cannot see that happen again. In a way, at least they are making sure they are fit and healthy to play once the season begins. BUT, it is scary that they have not picked up a bat yet in spring training.

I do not want to get into the whole 5th starter issue... Hernandez is really at least 45 years old.

But not to worry, we are only in the toughest division in the National League, maybe in baseball.

On a side note, since we are Met fans, there is no reason to say the word playoffs... until we make it.

But, YOU GOTTA BELIEVE!!!

well you could be worse...look at the sf giants. el duque is well over 35 he should be in the giants rotation. i guess at least the giants can beat the pirates! my prediction on the giants is 100 losses and 62 wins! half of those wins will come from cain and timmy...zito will win 5! arent you glad you didnt get zito?!

It is kind of scary that some of the Mets seem so old. I'm certainly not as confident as I was in 2006. We blew a golden opportunity to win the World Series that year.

Well the good thing is that in July, once we completely figure out that Delgado sucks and can't play, we can pick up Fielder via a trade. He is going to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the next year and Milwaukee is not going to be good. We give them a few picks in the next coming years and we should be able to land him.

Hopefully we can make things better by still being in first place.

Ouch, Alou is going to have hernia surgery. Will miss beginning of the season.
