Weight Watchers Week 8
I am now at the point where I am stupefied. I keep shocking myself week after week. Considering I am still not exercising, I don't know how I continue to do it. I lost another 2 pounds this week. I am now down a total of 21 pounds in 8 weeks. I started at 226 and I am now down to 205. My total goal weight loss when I started was 28 pounds so I could get down to 198, which is what I was in 2002 when Sue and I moved to San Diego. At this point, I don't know why I should stop at 198, I should keep going. But sooner or later I know I won't be able to continue losing 2 pounds every week. I will have to start walking or something. It just goes to show you I was really eating BAD!!! Too much food and too much of the wrong food. Weight Watchers really does work. Do you think since I blog about them every week that maybe I could work out some kind of endorsement deal? Stay tuned.

ICEHOTEL
Anyone that knows me knows I hate the cold. Check out this link for ICEHOTEL. It's a hotel built from ice and snow. Does this really sound like fun? What would possess people to stay here. I like to do fun and different things - but ICEHOTEL is several steps beyond different - It's CRAZY! If I'm going all the way to Sweden for a vacation - I'm not staying in any damn ICEHOTEL! Anyway, check out the website, there is some cool stuff on there about how it's built and the different kinds of rooms you can stay in. And if you go, please let me know how it was because ICEHOTEL is definitely not on my list of things to do.

Weight Watchers Week 7
Another week - another 2 pounds has gone bye bye. That's now a total of 19 pounds in 7 weeks. Sue dropped 3 pounds over the last 2 weeks and is now down a total of 13. Still no exercising yet, but I promise I will.

Football is Over

The football season is over but that doesn't mean you have to wait until summertime for meaningless preseason games. Check out this link on Entertainment Weekly about 14 Hollywood Gridiron Greats. Now some of these ain't great - Goldie Hawn in Wildcats??? They also left some out - how about the ESPN movie called The Junction Boys about Bear Bryant trying to dehydrate the hell out of some college kids. Anyway, take a look and if you get bored during baseball season - go rent some of these.

Weight Watchers Week 6
I lost another pound this week. I wish it was more than 1 pound but considering I went to a birthday party one day and then went to an all you can eat spread at the Nets game - losing a pound is a lot better than gaining one. I'm now down 17 lbs. after 6 weeks on Weight Watchers.

A Valentine's Day Winner

My company started a new Valentine's Day tradition today by having everyone dress in red or pink, a pot luck lunch and we each received red bags to decorate and hang so our co-workers could give us cards and stuff. I thought it was a little goofy at first but I decided I would decorate my bag with something funny. I put a big picture of a mouth on top, thank you for finding it Jason, and on the bag I wrote Feed Me. Well we voted on best bags in several categories and I won for funniest bag. My 2 minutes of creativity won me a fake champagne bottle of Hershey's champagne kisses. I was excited - I don't win that many things. My trophy - i.e., the fake champagne bottle is sitting on my desk for all to admire.

Star Ledger Trivia Contest
If you know me, then you know Sue and I have been doing the Star Ledger Ultimate Internet Trivia Contest for years. We have obviously never won and now we won't get the chance. The Star Ledger has discontinued the contest due to space and budget constraints. Very sad. The contest has been straight trivia and it's been a crossword puzzle and every year we, mostly me, are obsessed with completing the contest. It wasn't so much about winning as much as just completing the contest. Every year that it was a crossword puzzle, we were able to complete the puzzle, but never when it was just straight-forward trivia questions. One of the editors emailed me and said they may continue the contest online but not in the paper. No guarantees. I hope they do it - I'm up for the challenge. C'mon Star Ledger, do the right thing!
Nets-Timberwolves game
Last night I went out with some guys from work to see the Nets game. It was a great deal - my co-worker Jason got us tickets on ebay - 4 for $10. That is $10 total - it was a very good deal. Then he also has a connection that for $25 got us into some all you can eat Nets buffet. They had hot dogs, veggies, pretzels, chips and salsa, cookies, beer and soda. It's a great deal - I'm just not sure why we get in there. Jason gets tickets on ebay from season ticket holders and he talks to a lot of people at the games and we got hooked up. The food wasn't as great for me as the other guys since I am a vegetarian on a diet, but I got my $25 worth - I think the 2 beers and pretzel would have been $25. Overall, including parking, it was $30 well spent. The ride home in the snow sucked, but that's a different story for another day.

Weight Watchers - Week 5
Well I had another good week on weight watchers. I lost another 3 lbs. - I am now down a total of 16 lbs. in 5 weeks. I'm very happy and proud of myself. I was shocked that I lost 3 lbs. this week only because I thought the amount I would be losing would slow down by now to 1 or 2 lbs. per week. So I was pleasantly surprised. Sue lost 1/2 a pound and has now lost approximately 10 lbs. We are both extremely happy with our progress. I know some people don't think I need to lose anymore, but I still want to drop another 12 lbs. More would be even better, but my goal was 28 lbs. when I started, so I will be happy with that. I started to wear a pedometer this week to try and increase the number of steps I take in a day. But the pedometer was a freebie and I'm not sure it's that accurate. I'll keep trying it for a few days and see what happens.

The New King of Queens

Tomorrow, Johan Santana will be introduced at Shea Stadium as the newest Met. This deal the Mets made, in my opinion, will land them in the 2008 World Series. Now I am obviously biased, being a big Mets fan, but I truly believe this puts the Mets over the top. Can they beat the best teams in the American League, I'm not sure, but if you get to the World Series, then anything can happen. Since 2003, Santana ranks 2nd in wins, 1st in ERA, 1st in innings pitched and 1st in strikeouts. And I believe that being in the National League will only increase his statistics being able to pitch to a pitcher probably at least 100 times this year. In fact, he may strikeout 300 batters this year thanks to the switch in leagues. It's a very exciting time to be a Mets fan.

Weight Watchers Week 4
Sue and I continue to do well on Weight Watchers. We each lost 3 lbs. this week which brings our totals to 9 lbs. for Sue and 13 lbs. for me after 4 weeks. Neither of us has felt deprived of food at all and we haven't been exercising either. It's been all from what we eat. We're both very happy with the results so far but we each want to lose about 15-20 more lbs. Wish us luck.
